Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Search, Part 1
For years, fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra have burned with one question—what happened to Fire Lord Zuko's mother? Finding a clue at last, Zuko enlists the aid of Team Avatar—and the most unlikely ally of all—to help uncover the biggest secret of his life.
My husband, my son, and I are all huge Avatar fans. Huge fans. This manga installment undertakes to answer one of the major hanging threads left at the end of the anime series, and as The Search gets underway, we get some surprising bits of back story and new insights on old favorites (or maybe not so favorites).
I really do not want to spoil this story for anyone and do not want to spoil the stories from the anime for anyone who might be just getting into the show, but, briefly, Zuko needs help with a family matter and enters a surprising alliance

Immediately following the Avatar's adventures chronicled in The Promise, this remarkable oversized hardcover collects parts 1-3 of The Search, from Airbender creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko! Featuring annotations by Eisner Award-winning writer Gene Luen Yang (American Born Chinese) and the artist team Gurihiru (Thor and the Warriors Four), and a brand-new sketchbook, this is a story that Avatar fans need in an edition they will love!
I was so thrilled to read this story! Learning the complete story of Zuko's mother was very interesting, but what truly makes this adventure so wonderful is the complicated relationship of Zuko and Azula. Those who always wondered what happened to Azula after her mental snap will not be disappointed. She has gone absolutely nuts, but in between fits, she still acts like the imperious Fire Princess we all love

At the end of the show, ATLA, i was extremely sad. Don't get me wrong, the finale was a breathtaking work of art, but the ending was also bittersweet for me. My favorite show is over, i thought. There is no more Avatar... but not so fast. After years of waiting, the makers of Avatar finally come up with something else. Though i truly wish they would have continued the original tv show, a comic book will have to do. Korra is great and all, but it's just not the same!

Naruto, Vol. 71
Naruto is a young shinobi with an incorrigible knack for mischief. He's got a wild sense of humor, but Naruto is completely serious about his mission to be the world's greatest ninja!
With the Infinite Tsukuyomi activated and Kaguya resurrected, the ninja world is in the greatest peril it has ever faced. Can Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura work together to defeat this terrible menace?
It seems like I have been watching Naruto Shippend for years now waiting for the final chapter. Thank God through the purchase of this comic book I have finally reached the end of the story and it is fascinating. I will confess that I would've liked to seen Naruto grow up and become the village leader. That would've been an outstanding story arc don't you think?

Naruto 3-in-1 Edition, Vol. 2: Includes vols. 4, 5, 6
The world’s most popular ninja comic just got bigger with this collection of Naruto volumes!
Reads R to L (Japanese Style), for audiences T
Containing volumes 4, 5 and 6 of Naruto! In the Land of Waves, Naruto and his teammates Sakura and Sasuke, along with their sensei Kakashi, struggle to protect the bridge builder Tazuna and his family from Gato's hired thugs. When one of Naruto's friends falls in battle, Naruto is faced with the most difficult choice of his life. How far will he go to protect his friends? And does he have what it takes to be a hero?
I usually don't buy manga because I know that like anime, there will eventually be a box set or two in a year. But these 590+ page books are tight. The covers are repetitive, but kind of cooler than all of the originals combined. They take up less space too. Honestly, the lower price and space saving were enough for me to give them a try. They really show you, by comparison to the anime, just how the first years tend to merge 2 or 3 chapters in 1 full-fledged freakin' awesome episode. Really makes you aware of all the filler and lack of quality that seems to affect our modern anime

Naruto, Vol. 2: The Worst Client
Naruto is a ninja-in-training with a need for attention, a knack for mischief, and sealed within him, a strange, formidable power. His antics amuse his instructor Kakashi and irritate his teammates, intense Sasuki and witty Sakura, but Naruto is serious about becoming the greatest ninja in the village.
"Naruto Vol. 2" finds Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke and their teacher, the one-eyed Kakashi, on their first "real" assignment as Genin, or Junior Ninja. (After having passed Kakashi's test to be full-fledged Ninja, of course!) The foursome are hired to protect Tazuna, a gruff and unfriendly bridge builder from the Land of the Waves. Tazuna is being hunted by The Demon Zabuza, a fearsome outlaw ninja who slaughtered his entire graduating class from The-Village-Hidden-in-the-Mist.
Volume 2 expands on the themes brought up in Volume 1. Naruto is still an almost unlikable brat, but his potential comes out more and more. Kakashi serves as a teacher both to the reader and to Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke, unfolding tales of the Chakras, the Kage ninja leaders, and other essentials of author Kishimoto's ninja fantasy world. The secret of Kakashi's hidden eye is revealed as well in an awesome battle with The Demon Zabuza.

Naruto, Vol. 65: Hashirama and Madara
Naruto is a young shinobi with an incorrigible knack for mischief. He’s got a wild sense of humor, but Naruto is completely serious about his mission to be the world’s greatest ninja!
The ninja war approaches its climax as Obito and Madara manage to awaken the powerful beast known as Ten Tails. Standing in their way is Naruto and the Allied Shinobi Forces. However, the entire war may be turned upside down when Sasuke succeeds in doing what many thought was impossible!
Author/artist Masashi Kishimoto was born in 1974 in rural Okayama Prefecture, Japan. After spending time in art college, he won the Hop Step Award for new manga artists with his manga Karakuri (Mechanism). Kishimoto decided to base his next story on traditional Japanese culture. His first version of Naruto, drawn in 1997, was a one-shot story about fox spirits; his final version, which debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1999, quickly became the most popular ninja manga in Japan.

Naruto: Shikamaru's Story
A new series of prose novels, straight from the worldwide Naruto franchise. Naruto’s allies and enemies take center stage in these fast-paced adventures, with each volume focusing on a particular clanmate, ally, team…or villain.
Two years after the Great Ninja War, Shikamaru spends his days racing around, hands full as one of Konoha’s key protectors. Then one day a large number of ninja from every region are reported missing. Even Sai disappears. And the place where the missing shinobi end up is the mysterious empire, the Land of Silence
This story features brief but faithful interactions with Kakashi, Naruto, Sakura, Ino, Choji, Sai, Temari, Gaara and Kurenai, and plants seeds for some of the other novels in this series, making it enjoyable for fans. The translator still goofs on calling his "Shadow Strangulation" jutsu "Suffocating Darkness", and, while I know the anime dub translates his catchphrase as "What a drag," I'm used to subs that always prefer "How troublesome". (Just a personal nitpick.) One other nitpick is that the author incorrectly says Shikamaru became a Chunin because "the examiners handed down top marks for Shikamaru's sportsmanlike admission of defeat." That's such a basic storyline mistake, it's cringeworthy, but oh well.

Naruto 3-in-1 Edition, Vol. 3: Includes vols. 7, 8, 9
The world’s most popular ninja comic just got bigger with this collection of Naruto volumes!
Vol.7 - Encompasses the second exam and ends with a bit of a cliffhanger so we don't know if they've completed it yet. Kitts of battles with the same groups we've met before. There are some viscious bad guys out there. And they are all pretty cool. Sasuke is suffering from his bite, while Orochimaru is keeping tabs on him. (3/5)
Vol.8 - Fantastic volume! The third exam has the final teams parted into individuals and paring off to fight randomly. Winner of each fight will move on. Some awesome pairings and totally cool ninja moves! Out of the three main characters only Naruto hasn't fought yet. Can't wait to see the evil guy from the sand town fight. Loved this volume. (5/5)
Vol.9 - The amazing paired fights continue and the atmosphere is absolutely intense. The one Naruto ends up fighting came as a surprise and the fight the volume ends with is going to be amazing! During these battles we've really been given a much deeper understanding of the characters who've turned out to be the main characters. I'm now particularly fond of Rock Lee. (5/5)

Naruto: Sakura's Story
A new series of prose novels, straight from the worldwide Naruto franchise. Naruto’s allies and enemies take center stage in these fast-paced adventures, with each volume focusing on a particular clanmate, ally, team…or villain.
The Great Ninja War did not only harm adults, but left many damaged children behind. Medical ninja Sakura travels the land, opening clinics dedicated to healing children of the mental trauma they experienced. She learns of a series of attacks against Konoha, and her investigation leads to an impossible conclusion: Sasuke is the terrorist mastermind behind them all! Using her skills and her heart, Sakura strives to clear Sasuke’s name and bring the real perpetrator to justice.
This was a very solid entry in the Naruto-verse! In fact, this is the only story I've seen so far that actually delves in to what the political structure of the post-war Konoha is like. Kakashi (as Hokage) has to attend financial meetings, different departments vie for money, not everyone is satisfied etc. Sakura actually asks Tsunade for advice and hangs out with her friends socially instead of the story immediately launching into "there's a villain! Go fight!" This is set after when Naruto and Hinata become a couple, so it's fun to glimpse the two of them doing normal things, like going on a date or teaching at the academy. It paints a more whole picture of Konoha and makes it seem more real

Ok, so maybe this was a bit of an anticlimax following the huge cliff hanger at the end of volume three. However, loads of new characters are introduced in this volume which give rise to a whole new level of story telling and character development. There are currently 22 volumes of naruto waiting to be translated into English and this volume sets the stage for what is to come. It's a really good read, and if you can't wait for the next volume, there are plently that have been scanlated available on the net, so go check it out...it's definately worth it!

The peace following Kaguya's defeat is short-lived as Sasuke tries to take total control. Can Naruto change his old friend's mind and bring true peace to the ninja world in the final volume of Naruto?
I bought this final volume for respect to Kishimoto. I thoroughly enjoyed the series- when I was not trying to reason with anime logic- and found myself many years later staring at the end of the series. Reading through this volume was the final breath of relief knowing how the character development went. Albeit, I have my own strong opinion as to how certain chapters of the plot should have went, but nonetheless, I am content. I highly encourage reading the epilogue, watching The Last and Boruto the Movie.
