On the way to Eren’s home, deep in Titan territory, the Survey Corps ranks are broken by a charge led by a female Titan! But this Abnormal is different – she kills not to eat but to protect herself, and she seems to be looking for someone. Armin comes to a shocking conclusion: She’s a human in a Titan’s body, just like Eren!
The story is very fast paced this time around. There is a lot of running around and chasing this time. You get a lot of screen time with Armin at first, and I got to admit this guy is smart. Armin comes to some shocking conclusions and he seems to always be testing things out and planning many steps ahead.
Eren has to learn the hard way when it comes to trusting comrades and the rewards that come with it. You get a little more detail on Eren's little bodyguard squad, and how strong they really are. 4/4

That day, Annie Leonhart woke up in the barracks. It was the morning of her day off. The feeling of freedom doesn’t last long, for tomorrow holds her biggest mission yet: During the 57th Expedition Outside the Walls, seize Eren Yaeger.
The manga based on the Attack on Titan spin-off novel, Lost Girls!
The volume covers one day in the life of Annie Leonhart, one month after joining the Military Police in the comfort of life inside the capital inside Wall Sheena (always makes me think of Sheena Easton... lol!). Annie undertakes a small mission from a fellow MP involving the disappearance of the daughter of an important businessman. Annie undertakes the mission reluctantly, but shows true dedication and good deduction in her one day mission to discover the girl's whereabouts.
The story really serves to show how the other side of the city lives. We see some of this in the backstory manga and light novels for Levi (the underground), but this is really the first time the reader sees some of the seedy underbelly of life above ground. Much of this story revolves around drug use in the city.

The expedition outside the wall was Eren's chance to prove himself. But it failed, and the female Titan is free once more! With his squad dead, Eren faces a royal summons. Will Mikasa and Armin have to betray their king to save their friend? And can they discover the female Titan's identity before she kills again?
As a fan of the anime, I'm not QUITE up-to-speed with the manga but let's face it - that doesn't matter. It's not why I bought this. The deck of cards that comes with this is AMAZING. It's a complete 54-Card Deck (including Jokers), all with colored images pulled right from the manga. The cards are also made out of this textured-plasticy material (e.g. not cardboard/pressed paper, whatever) so they feel super durable.
Seriously, spend the $12 and get the cards. Totally worth the purchase for those alone

The Survey Corps develop a risky gambit – have Eren in Titan form attempt to repair Wall Rose, reclaiming human territory from the monsters for the first time in a century. But Titan-Eren’s self-control is far from perfect, and when he goes on a rampage, not even Armin can stop him! With the survival of humanity on his massive shoulders, will Eren be able to return to his senses, or will he lose himself forever?
The manga focuses around this premise, along with how the humans fight against the menace that the Titans suppose. The story of Attack on Titan develops beautifully. Not only it is an original concept, which hasn’t been seen a lot in this media, but it also plays and develops it well. Despite the concept behind the story having been played down in the past by other similar apocalyptic series, this doesn’t apply to it.
It not only focuses on the sheer horror that the human-devouring Titans present, but also on the very real human society which still exists and attempts to rebuild itself. Attack on Titan succeeds in not leaving any of these elements behind, and paints a clear picture of its world as a whole via its story

Really enjoyed the special dust cover. Great edition to the collection. The OVA "no regrets" is awesome but unfortunately it is only the first episode. Problem being, I don't have any idea how to get the next episode. Still, great purchase for any attack on titan fan.

Thanks to Rod Reiss, Eren finally knows the terrible truth behind how he acquired his Titan powers, and the depth of his father's crimes. The king orders his daughter Historia to kill Eren and restore the power of the Titans to its rightful place, but she chooses her own selfish path: survival. As the cavern crumbles around the Survey Corps, Eren must make another last-minute decision, with the lives of all his friends in the balance.
Attack on Titan is the award-winning and New York Times bestselling series that is THE manga hit of the decade! Spawning the monster hit anime TV series of the same name, Attack on Titan has become a pop culture sensation.
Finally, at long last, the conclusion to the long and annoying political warfare arc! As usual, Isayama gives us some really good action sequences, though it does annoy me how quickly the new Titan gets defeated. I will give that a pass, though, because of all the sweet, sweet character development we get for Historia in this volume. Judging by how the series is going, the next few volumes are gonna be really exciting.

In this post-apocalyptic sci-fi story, humanity has been devastated by the bizarre, giant humanoids known as the Titans. Little is known about where they came from or why they are bent on consuming mankind. Seemingly unintelligent, they have roamed the world for years, killing everyone they see. For the past century, what's left of the human race has hidden in a giant, three-walled city.
People believe their 100-metre-high walls will protect them from the Titans, but the sudden appearance of an immense Titan is about to change everything.
Book three of Attack on Titan is as amazing as the last two! I have been really happy to find these books on my kindle, since finding paper copies is next to impossible. With all the action, blood, and friendship this wonderful series displays, it's no wonder Hajime Isayama is becoming such a well renowned manga artist. Can't wait to get book four!

The Colossal Titan has breached humanity’s first line of defense, Wall Maria. Mikasa, the 104th Training Corps’ ace and Eren’s best friend, may be the only one capable of defeating them, but beneath her calm exterior lurks a dark past. When all looks lost, a new Titan appears and begins to slaughter its fellow Titans. Could this new monster be a blessing in disguise, or is the truth something much more sinister?
This volume of Attack on Titan includes special extras after the story!
This series just gets more and more intense. Every possible feeling that you can get in a story is shown in every page from suspense to "whoa didn't see that coming." There is action, mystery, drama, comedy (very subtle), adventure of the outside world (which I hope Isayama will show in the future chapters) and I believe romance is starting to show up a little bit; just a little :). Anyways, buy it you won't regret, its inexpensive and something any true AoT fan should have.

I will say that this volume did not blow me away as much as I was hoping it to. But I will also say that it’s very good. And, if you like Levi and/or Erwin, it’s definitely worth picking up. I was not expecting this to be how Levi and Erwin first met, or how Levi got started with the Survey Corps, and it definitely gives me a new perspective on Levi. I think I like him even more now.
Levi is a thief at the start of this book, along with two friends that I’ve never met before. They live underground, in a very rundown area. The survey corps are struggling, and Erwin takes it upon himself to do something new, including recruiting Levi (and his friends). Levi is awesome from the start, of course, and his friends take very close behind him, even though the others aren’t very welcoming.
I don’t recognize Levi’s friends, and that makes me wary of if something happens to them. I honestly didn’t pay much attention to Erwin in the original series, and he still doesn’t really have my affection, but he’s an interesting character. I’m getting a new insight on his and Levi’s relationship, and that’s interesting. I was also hoping that we’d get to see more of Hange, particularly how her and Levi meet and grow close. Hange is a really interesting character, and very close to Levi in the original. We saw glimpses of Hange in this volume, so I hope there’s more in the next volume. I want to see their first real interaction.
Also, the art was very pretty. It still had some of the harsh edges and shadowing that the original has, which I appreciated, but it was also much prettier. The next volume is the last in this spin-off, and I look forward to seeing how Levi’s prequel wraps up
